I was born in 1950; attended school for 9 years and then completed an apprenticeship in banking, a profession in which I had no interest. Through being a conscientious objector of National Service, I entered the area of social work. After 18 years of being a social worker I decided I wanted to learn a craft. I became a blacksmith artist and have been such for the last 30 years.
