I have never liked to summarize my life, nor answer the fateful question: where are you from? Not out of pedantry or any question of pride or mannerism, but quite simply because it is complicated. I am a son of my century, I am a bastard, a mixture of cultures and influences that correspond to the spirit of Europe. I was born in Tunisia, of Franco-Italian parents, I have Ashkenazi Jewish and Catholic origins, I am an atheist, I grew up between France, Spain and Italy, I live in Greece, I worked all over Europe, I speak several languages and I don’t belong to any place. I have worked in several professions: Theatre, shows of all kinds, light designer, trader, chef… I love beautiful things, I love art in all its forms, I am a music lover and wine lover and a lover of good restaurants. These boxes are a game, an entertainment. A way of portraying my life and my past. They tell of phases and moments of my existence. They are personal, and yet I believe that they belong to everyone. Showing them in an exhibition is a bit of exposing myself, but I am not ashamed of my world, I believe that it can be shared. That’s why I’m showing them off for the first time. I open them to the world, take care of them.
